Don't let aerated greens keep you away

Over the last three weeks, probably just about every course in the Pacific Northwest has plugged and sanded their greens.  At our club, there are plenty of guys who bitch and complain for weeks afterwards and refuse to play there.

Ridiculous, I say.

There are plenty of reasons to get out there and play despite the sandy greens. First of all, the public courses have all kinds of great discounts for the days surrounding aerating.  Regardless of the low prices, the course is bound to be a little emptier, meaning you can take your time out there and work on a few more shots. It's great practice time.

Getting out to play and have more time on the course is better than hanging at the range for two weeks. You'll get your tee shots and irons shots grooved while getting an edge on your regular playing partners.

You'll thank me later. Just send me a cut of your extra winnings this Summer.

Golf Writer

In addition to owning Northwest Golf Adventures, I've been writing golf and travel articles since 2000. My main focus has always been golf in the Pacific Northwest, but I've had stories appear in association magazines across the country, several national publications and on radio and television. I'm always looking for great stories to write about!
