I guess the question of whether Tiger would win another major or two this year has been answered.  According to a release on Woods' website, the world's best golfer will miss the rest of the 2008 season because of knee surgery.

Is a torn ligament and stress fractures the result of his rushing back to play (and eventually win) the US Open?  The ligament damage stretches back almost 10 months, the fractures just two months.

According to the story on CNN.com, doctors are optimistic that a full recovery will be made from the knee surgery.  The stress fractures, they said, would heal in time on their own.  As someone who had his college track career cut short by stress fractures, I know that those kind of injuries aren't guaranteed to heal and not come back.  Let's hope we see Tiger at 100% for 2009.
