This weekend's FBR Open is always one of the most exciting events on the TOUR schedule. If you're looking to get your golf fix, I highly recommend tuning in at some point.
I've been in Phoenix for this event several times and I can say that it's a golf experience like no other. Since it's not a major, the players are typically a little more relaxed and interact with the galleries throughout the weekend. The course, the TPC Scottsdale, is setup perfectly to get the crowds involved.
It seems like some unknown rookie will put up a good number and be at or near the top of the leaderboard after the first day or two, but it's the veterans that always shine on the weekend.
This year, the highest-ranked player in the field is Phil Mickelson, the hometown boy and two-time FBR winner. He got off to a rocky start Thursday, so you'll have to tune in to see if he even makes the cut.
If you're gonna watch one tournament outside the majors and the FedEx Cup, I'd vote for the FBR Open.
